Federal and state Do Not Call laws regulate telemarketing calls to consumers.
A telemarketing call is any call in which you attempt to make a sale, or
set up a face-to-face meeting to make a sale, to a consumer that you do not
know personally. Calls to referrals are regulated if you don’t know the prospect personally.
The Federal and state Do Not Call laws require you to:
- Check the phone numbers you plan to call against several Do Not Call databases and avoid calling numbers on the lists,
- Add phone numbers to your company’s Do Not Call list of any consumers who request to be placed on it,
- Obtain training on Do Not Call laws,
- Have a company Do Not Call policy and send it to consumers who request it,
- Keep records of your compliance activities.
You must comply with these laws or you and your company may be fined thousands
of dollars. DNCQuickcheck helps you comply with these requirements.
